Either on kayak, through the islands, sand banks and the nooks of the Lagoon, or walking through the ancient tracks hidden by the vegetation along the banks of the Óbidos Lagoon, make one of our nature tours and have fun while you explore this “thousand-years old” estuary.
Come alone, bring some friends, girlfriend or boyfriend, family and children, bring your dog … come as you wish, but come with the certainty that you will have an amazing day!
All our activities are carried out safe, stable and comfortable kayaks and accompanied by one or two certified local guides.
Make a true “Expedition” in the Óbidos Lagoon that includes a Kayak tour (and maybe a small hike). Where you will learn about Local History and Traditions, Marine life identification*, Birdwatching and Edible Seaweed and Plants. If the tides and conditions permit, you will learn how to catch shellfish using traditional techniques (catch & release)

On weekends and local and national holidays, the minimum number of participants is 4 adults. The maximum on any day will be 10 participants (exceptionally 12). The minimum recommended age to participate in the activity will be 4 years, when accompanied by at least one adult paddler*.

In an eco-friendly, stable and comfortable boat with accessibility for people with reduced mobility, you will enjoy the unspoilt landscapes of the Óbidos Lagoon in a comfortable, safe and relaxed way.
Accompanied by a local guide, that will provide you with a fun and rich experience. Departures by appointment from the dock ramp of Foz do Arelho (Mobile home park) and Covão dos Musaranhos (Óbidos).
Circular or hybrid routes available – Boat trips complemented by a bicycle ride along the banks of the lagoon, an All-terrain vehicle or a mini-bus ride with a guided tour to the Óbidos Medieval Castle and other places of interest in the Oeste region, available on prior request.

We offer you an activity where the goal is to walk, have fun, and spend a morning or afternoon surrounded by nature, where you will learn and whitness the action of geological phenomena that occurred millions of years ago, from fossils and vestiges of an ancient sea to to the footprints of the dinosaurs that dominated “our country” 160 million years ago…

COVID-19
Although it is not necessary to use a mask during the activity, since the distance between participants, non-cohabitants or family members, should never be less than 2m, it will be necessary for all participants to have a mask with them during the activity for any situation, possible explanation, observation or other, which may require a distance less than the recommended one.
All participants must disinfect their hands with ABAS. (alcohol gel), provided by the guides, during the initial briefing and during the activity whenever one feels necessary.

We invite you to join us on a walk around the Óbidos Lagoon, returning by boat, and optionally also to stay in Foz do Arelho, in one of the hotel units that we have selected for you, and enjoying a fantastic dinner in a selection of the best restaurants in the village.
Take a real “Lagoa de Óbidos Expedition” which includes the walking tour and the return by boat across the Lagoa de Óbidos, reaching where you cannot reach on foot. All our activities are carried out in respect for nature, legal provisions and safety standards, always accompanied by one or two certified local guides.
Discover the history of the formation of Lagoa de Óbidos, discover ancient legends and stories of the people and traditions of this millenary lagoon.
In addition to the rich fauna and flora of this lagoon, marvel at the stories, culture and traditions of these people for centuries linked to this plane of calm waters rich in life and history.

Among old fishermen’s paths, wet sand, bicycle paths and green trails, it will be a long walk where we will be able to enjoy unique landscapes and observe the richness of the fauna and flora that inhabit and nest along the banks of the Lagoa de Óbidos.
During the walk, we will learn to identify some of the inhabitants of the lagoon’s shores, as well as listen to old stories about events, people and traditions lost in the memory of times.
Due to its characteristics, the route is linear, with return transport by boat guaranteed by the organization and included in the registration fee.
Two stops of 20/30min are planned, for rest and a snack, and a stop of 1:45h for lunch.
Lunch
The option of lunch will be at the Covão dos Musaranhos restaurant (upon prior indication), or you can opt for a picnic, in which case you should plan and provide your own food.
Recommended: Take a backpack with: snacks, water (1.5L per person), hat, sunscreen, camera, clothing suitable for weather conditions (waterproof, windproof, etc.), comfortable shoes suitable for dirt and sand paths and vegetation. – In rainy seasons, some sections with mud will also be expected.
The activity will take place on two routes of different distances of your choice.
Depending on your will and/or fitness and to allow coordination with the boat, there are two distances to choose from. Route 1 (from A to B) and Route 2 (from A to C)

Hiking from São Martinho, Salgado to São Gião
CAF and Intertidal invite you for a fantastic walk into the past through the cliffs and landscapes between São Martinho do Porto and the south of Nazaré.
This walk, through dirt tracks, sand and vegetation, is therefore not suitable for people with reduced mobility. Due to its characteristics, distance and uneven ground, it is considered to be of medium difficulty. The journey will be at a leisurely pace, with several intermediate stops and a stop for lunch of about 1 hour.

If you choose option B, without lunch, we suggest that you bring your own meal, as the walking distance requires a period of rest and reinforcement before returning.
Whatever your option, lunch will be held together in a picnic style gathering at a place designated by the organization.
In both cases you can also bring light snacks, such as fruit, sugar-free biscuits or cereal bars, as well as water at a rate of 1L to 1.5L per person.
Take a backpack with snacks, and if was your choice, picnic lunch, water (1.5L per person, minimum), hat, sunscreen, camera, comfortable clothing suitable for the weather conditions, comfortable and suitable shoes to walk on dirt, sand and vegetation paths.
In order to mobilize the necessary logistics for the activity, registration presupposes the payment of the desired option, which can be made by ATM, MBWay, or bank transfer. If you need a receipt with VAT, please indicate it after making the payment.
Try or enjoy paddle boarding, with your family, friends, or solo, comfortably on the sandy beach of Foz do Arelho, on the north bank of Lagoa de Óbidos.
If “walking on water” is not your thing, we also have comfortable and safe kayaks, or fast and light kayaks, depending on your choice. Depending on availability, participants may opt for double* or single kayaks.

We invite you to join us during a weekend and head to Tomar for a level 01 survival course.
This course aims to familiarize participants with the basic techniques of survival on land and provide them with the means and knowledge so that they can survive in nature in case of need, or just as personal enrichment, acquiring greater knowledge about life in the outdoors and a greater proximity to nature.

In a tradition started a few years ago by some friends in the area, water sports fans, who get together on the morning of January 1st for the first paddle of the year, we invite you to come with us as well to welcome the new year at Lagoa de Óbidos.
This is an informal and free event with collection of goods. This year, the collected goods will revert to Refood Caldas da Rainha.
Bring your Kayak, Canoe, Stand Up Paddle board or any other vessel moved “by arms”, or by wind, and come and enjoy a magnificent morning spent immersed in the tranquil landscape of Lagoa de Óbidos.
