On Sunday, September 28th, we invite you to join us on a hike around the perimeter of Óbidos Lagoon, stay in Foz do Arelho at one of the hotels we’ve selected for you, and enjoy a fantastic dinner at a selection of the village’s best restaurants.
Amidst ancient fishing trails, wet sand, bike paths, and lush green trails, this will be a long walk where we can enjoy unique landscapes and observe the rich fauna and flora that inhabit and nest along the shores of Óbidos Lagoon.
During the hike, we’ll learn to identify some of the inhabitants of the lagoon’s shores, hear ancient stories about events, people, and traditions lost to the memory of time. And, of course, observe the flamingos, which are at their peak at this time of year in Obidos Lagoon.
Due to its characteristics, the route is linear, with return transportation provided by the organizers and included in the registration fee.
There are two 20- to 30-minute stops planned for rest and a snack, and a 1-hour stop for lunch.
Recommended: Bring a backpack with food for a picnic lunch approximately halfway through the route, water (1.5L per person), a hat, sunscreen, a camera, and comfortable shoes suitable for dirt, sand, and vegetation.

Due to its length, this is a moderately difficult route, so it is advisable to be physically fit and bring adequate equipment (shoes, backpack, etc.)
